Vish got his first taste of startup life in the early '00s at a storage startup in the Bay Area. He worked on web services and developer platforms at Microsoft, and developer platforms, News Feed and Ads at Facebook prior to Scio. He likes to subject his family to terrible dad jokes and listen to podcasts to appear knowledgeable.
Neboysa is a Product Manager who keeps Scio’s engine lubricated and has run out of hats to wear. He previously was a PM at Rubrik where he also led the hiring of their strong engineering team. Spots talent and bugs, and regularly wins money from engineers at poker. Has dreams about being an engineer.
Since 1997, Tony has loved building smooth, fast user interfaces for basically anything with a screen. Over a decade at Google, he helped modernize the web search results page and later founded and led Chrome's Speed Team. Away from the LCD glow you're likely to find him looking for a new bird species to add to his avian portrait collection.
As part of the Applied Brain team at Google, Eddie was lucky enough to work on large-scale models powering a broad range of products, from Web Search ranking to Assistant NLU to YouTube and Ads recsys. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, watching his cat do weird stuff, and cracking open cold ones in the California sunshine.
Piyush has previously built multiple different products ground up -- Uber transit, Uber shared bikes and Helpouts (at Google). Prior to this, Piyush has spent multiple years improving Google search ranking as part of the core ranking team. Besides coding (which he really loves), Piyush enjoys skiing, hiking and playing board games.
Sharva has worked on Distributed Systems and Networking in industry in the past. Before Scio he was a Tech Lead for a Network Control and Telemetry system at Google’s NetInfra group. In his spare time, he loves singing and running (at least he likes to think so ;-)).
Cindy loves solving workflow problems with well designed, functional systems. After years building sales/support tools at Intercom and Salesforce in Dublin, London, and SF, Cindy now leads design at Scio. Outside of work, Cindy moonlights as a children’s book author and illustrator. She is currently working on her first graphic novel for kids.
Chaitanya formerly worked in Robotics & AI research at Vicarious AI, helping robots do cool tasks and thinking about how to build intelligent agents. He enjoys hacking on things and math. He likes to pretend he can beatbox, enjoys following basketball, and playing social deduction board games (Among Us sus).
James joins us from a decade-plus long stint at Google where he helped build Search infrastructure and build out Google Health. Ask him about pinball machines.
Yiming previously worked on visual embeddings, ranking, and search infrastructure as part of the visual search team at Pinterest. Outside of work, he spends some of his time recovering from his many injuries, sleeping in tents (when they manage to stay up), and deciding on which books belong at the bottom of his bookshelf.
Sumeet worked on algorithmic trading for more than a decade, before joining the hottest technology startup in the Bay Area. In his spare time, he loves taking his daughters to the park and pondering the finiteness of it all.
Deedy was a former Tech Lead at Google working on Sports and knowledge ranking quality across the New York, Tel Aviv and Bangalore office. You can find him nerding out about cricket and all kinds of sports betting, Bollywood, cycling though Los Altos Hills, or sharing (very) questionable takes on Twitter.
Shivaal previously worked on machine learning for 3D point clouds at Scale AI before joining Scio to work across the stack. When not watching Messi highlights on YouTube, he can be found bouldering, playing social deduction board games (Among Us!), or despairingly trying to improve his photography.
Phil was a mobile developer north of the wall before coming to the soft southlands to work on consumer experiences at Facebook. In his free time he enjoys green things, board games, and reflecting upon the very nature of existence.
Dragos worked as a Software Engineer at Palantir, before joining Scio to work on search quality. He never shies away from intense discussions about mechanical keyboards, competitive programming and brain eating amoebas. He uses his adorable corgi, Azora, to appear more friendly, but don’t let that fool you!
Mustafa most recently helped engineer Dropbox Assistant and Google Now, a long way from how he start his career doing research in high-performance computing. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis to burn calories he gets from his own cooking, or painting abstract pieces to keep his dreams up and running.
Alice started out on the Brokerage and Banking Platform team at Wealthfront before moving to Heap to work on Autocapture. Now, she's excited to be working on The Next Big Thing™. When she isn't feeling lazy, you can find her running, biking, NYT crosswording, and aggressively saying hello to all dogs that pass her by.
Ankit worked as a test automation lead at Rubrik and helped grow the team in India from 2 to 50 over 2 years. He now heads the testing team at Scio. He loves the water and enjoys diving, snorkeling but mostly lazing on the beach. He hopes to one day become a full time traveller and globetrot with his wife. #ankimoniglobetrot
Josh started his career on Wall Street as an analyst and trader. He then joined Box where he spent 6 years in different BD, sales and management roles. When not working with customers to solve complex problems, he spends his time trying to golf, traveling & enjoying a crisp glass of wine. Originally from the East Coast, Josh is an avid fan of NY sports teams. Go Yankees & Giants!
Mrinal built virtual assistants and NLP frameworks at Facebook before hopping over to Scio to work on search quality. When not waiting for his ML models to train, he likes reading world history, traveling off the beaten track, and bringing home photographs to frame. He’s tried living off mangoes, momos and mochi, and is still alive.
Arunima loves scrutinizing and finding flaws in people's lives. It is this joy that she delved into deeper to become a Bug Bounty hunter! Prior to Scio, she has worked at companies such as DellEMC, NetApp, Oracle and Rubrik.
She daydreams about her next travel destination, paints her thoughts, or finds new recipes to experiment with.
Jeremy worked as a web crawling lead at Google for several years, really enjoying the large technical challenges in the Search space. He also spent time at Facebook working on Mobile Infrastructure and then AI Infrastructure before coming to Scio. He roots for the Red Sox, does casual biking, and likes taking his kids on crazy trips.
Greg works diligently to ensure his customers are getting the most value from his company's products. He cares deeply about the customer having a strong and positive experience with the company products, service and people. He is also pretty good at organizing fun team and company events.
Calvin can never resist a good opportunity to build something meaningful, so here he is at Scio! Before this he was at SambaNova, working on on systems optimizations for Machine Learning and training Recommender models. If you ask him to get tea or solve a crossword or eat a midnight snack, he'll always say yes. It's the law.
Jessica spent most of her recruiting career at Rubrik, where she helped scale the company from under 100 to 1500 in less than 4 years. Her passion to build extends beyond recruiting and she's excited to once again embark on a new journey! In her spare time, you can find her planning her next trip, thinking about her next meal, or browsing real estate listings she can't afford.
